Extra Extra - Read All About It

Well done Sue Chisnall-Sumner for getting the Lancashire Evening Post to do an article on our group.

It was in last nights Evening Post - a full page spread - excellent

Great pictures girls. Sorry I couldn't make it to the shoot at Alston Hall.

As the banner headline says it's also great news that we've been accepted to exhibit at The Museum of Lancashire in 2016 -

Well done to us all x Tracey

Extended date for 'Spirit of Place'

Due to 'popular demand' we have been asked to extend our exhibition at Alston Hall. The exhibition now ends on Saturday 30th August 2014.

We have sold 4 items so far- Sue Tyldesley has sold a hanging, & Suzanne Snape has fired very well by selling 2 jewellery sets & a silk scarf. Well done to both of them.

We have had loads of compliments & good remarks in our visitors book, saying that the exhibition looks great.

Here area  few photos to wet your appetite.

Sue C-S progress

Hi Our exhibition 'Spirit of Place' which will be held at Alston Hall, Alston Lane, Longridge
PR3 3BP -30th June to 2nd August 2014- is going great guns and I know will be of our normal high standard or even better!

The catalogue is going along nicely, with a quote from 'Spirit of Place' by Lawrence Durrell, being our mantra for the theme this year- very thought provoking about travel in general.

I have nearly finished my pieces, with just a bag to make, a whirling Dervish and some scarves to embellish. I have received work from 4 of our members, with 6 more to go. Should be great.

Here are a couple of pieces of mine to wet the appetite!!!

Check out my blog www.suecstextiles.blogspot.com for further updates.

'Colours of Calabria'

Tray dyeing day

Tracey & I had a great two days tray dyeing fabrics & threads- what an array of colours and patterns.

My garden looked like an Indian Bazaar, & I just love ironing the fabrics when nearly dry- this brings out the sheen & lustre of silk.
